Wait for Me

Purity is a difficult issue, and especially for today’s culture. Rebecca St. James, the talented Christian singer from Australia, has even written a beautiful song called “Wait for Me”. And now, the second edition of her book with the same title has been released.

Rebecca St. James is one of the few artists that can write prose as beautifully as she writes songs. “Wait for me” is an honest book from the heart of one who is waiting herself and knows what it’s like. This book stands out among others on the same topic because of the way she covers the issues. She draws on input from her parents, grandparents, and married friends about beautiful marriages to show what it is we are waiting for, and shares honest letters she’s received from those who have experienced the heartache following impurity. This combination of showing the ideal of one side and the very real consequences of another, make the book an excellent read. Chapter titles include “Mind Matters”, “Protecting Purity: Practical Ways to Wait”, “Love and Marriage”, and “A Second Chance.”

Age Recommendation: 15+
She does not say anything inappropriate for younger readers, although she does share the real heartbreak that some others have experienced, but I think the nature of the book is one that lends itself to middle/older teens and up.
