What do you do when you don’t work?

“So what do you do on the days you don’t work?” my boss asked me, making small talk as she looked for a press release to give me. “Veg out?”

{Yes, I have two internships. Yes, I work three days. Yes, it is a fantastic arrangement}

“Well, my sister is moving {a few states away} this weekend, so we’ve been doing a lot to get ready for that…” I explained, trying to think of an answer that would not make me sound like a lazy bum.

And we’ve been doing lots of the packing and shopping and cleaning and stuff.

But the truth is that today was one of my non-working days.

And what did I do?

I got up at 11:37. Fell totally apart for no reason at all. Excercised (which I’m giving myself major points for). I watched two episodes of the Mary Tyler Moore show. Practiced voice. And made eight Rock Pets with my little sister. Lots of googly eyes, yarn, baby pom-poms, and glue involved.

(I’d post pictures, but I feel that we should all admit that I’m just not one of those cool photo-posting bloggers. Didn’t feel like bothering to take a picture…)

What do you do on the days you don’t work?

    Don’t work? Lol, what’s that? haha.
    I am really busy this summer… working 40 hours a week at one job, taking on another part time job for a couple hours, and taking an online class. But, when I’m not working, I’m usually spending time with my family, going swimming, running or biking… or reading books. 🙂 I like reading books, though I haven’t had very much time for non-school books unfortunately…
    oh, and entertaining little kids. 🙂 it’s those simple things that make life happy.

    i’ve been doing homework for my one summer class, reading a lot, and watching more television than is called for or healthy. haha. i’ve gotten a couple more hours at work now that we’ve begun the summer schedule, though, so hopefully i’ll start to be more productive!

    haha! oh my girls – I’m impressed by your productivity 🙂 Annie, I liked your “watching more television than is called for or healthy”. 😉 Just because I can related. And english nerd in me likes the wording.
