that time in your life where Disney gets mixed into everything

We were walking back from a theatre club’s production of Jesus Christ Superstar.  We couldn’t help overhearing an amusing argument between three guys right behind us, trying to figure out whether someone was a thief or a chain-saw murderer.  Of course, we had to turn around and ask what they were talking about.

Turns out, they were trying to remember the criminal Pilot released instead of Jesus.  He hadn’t been mentioned in the musical, and they were trying to remember who and what he was.   (Still not sure about the chain-saw part.  Pretty sure they hadn’t been invented yet 😉 ).

But anyway, since we were then trying to remember this guy’s name, of course none of us could.

“Barnabas!” I said finally, proud of myself.

“No – Barrabas!” Mike remembered. “Who’s Barnabas?”

“…..a Disney villain….”

Classic me.  Apparently the Mr. Barnabas in Babes in Toyland was also in the Bible.  In my tired mind.

I was singing Part of Your World today.  And as I was slathering aloe vera gel all over my poor, splotchily-sunburnt arms and legs tonight (I never learn), I realized that I need to warn that poor mermaid.

Dear Ariel,

I know you dream of living above, and say you’d pay anything to spend a day warm on the sand.  Just remember that you are a fair redhead.  A whole day warm on the sand is probably not the best idea.

Love,

Megan

Yeah.  It’s almost finals week.
