Five Minute Friday: If You Met Me

April 8, 2011 at 1:48 pm 4 comments

…the part of the blog where Megan sings a silly song writes for five unedited minutes, without worrying whether it’s right or not.

Props to those of you who just got the Veggie Tales reference.  Anyways, Lisa-Jo’s topic for Five Minute Friday is if you met me.

If you met me, I would probably be thrilled to meet you.  I would want to know all about you, and I might pepper you with questions.  Depending on the day, I might be sweet and sophisticated and normal, or I might be bouncing up and down for no good reason.  If you met me, I might have to tell you the same thing I told another new friend, which was, “I’d say I’m not normally this crazy…except I am.”

If you met me, you would probably find out very fast that I love musicals, theatre, music, writing, dance.  Something with the word story or music would probably come up in the conversation, because those are two of my favorite words and topics.  If you met me, I really would try to listen more than I talked, but that might not always happen.

If you met me, I would hope that we would be friends.  I would hope that soon we could get past the small talk into the real stuff that friendships are made of – the real questions, the deep questions, the i genuinely want to know about the unimportant parts of your day because i care about you stuff.

If you met me, I probably wouldn’t let you leave without a hug.  I’m a hugger.  And if you’re a girl, the next time you saw me we might snuggle together.

If you met me, you’d probably notice that I talk louder than necessary when I’m excited, that I laugh a lot, but that I can be serious too.

If you met me, I hope you know I care about you.  I think we’d be friends.

Did you do a five-minute Friday post?  Leave it in the comments – I’d love to see!

And please, somebody, notice that I’m doing this on a Friday.  Not my continual “let’s pretend it’s Friday!” nonsense…I think I should get props or kudos or points or a free cup of tea for that.

Stopping by from Gypsy Mama, loved the post!

“I’m not normally this crazy..except I am” sounds like the second time someone meets me, usually I’m too shy to admit that on the first meeting! 🙂

Well done on accomplishing this post on a Friday!
    Music. So important, indeed.
I missed the Veggie Tales reference, sorry to say.

Our girls (23, 26) grew up on all kinds of different music. We wore out The Little Mermaid and Aladdin CD’s because we sang in the car to them so often.
Did you sing in the car when you were little?

You and I love a lot of the same things. 🙂 My first two years of college, I was a musical theatre major, which should tell you a lot. Though I’m not in undergrad any more, I’m still in school. I’ve moved back to the writing end of the spectrum, but I’ll always have a little song and dance in me.

Really nice to meet you. I hope we can get past the small talk and to the real stuff, too. 🙂

I got the veggie tales reference!!!!!!

And I’m proud of you for writing the Friday post on Friday. Although, I think one of the things I love about you is that you’re not stuck to doing things in a routine way. If it’s Tuesday, you’re just as willing to write a Friday post. And that makes you quite special.
