raindrops on roses

these are a few of my favorite things!

Well,  more like a few happy pieces from this past week.  Because I have zero motivation to study.

– Kelly and Megan and I did see Tangled, it was adorable, and we were the only ones in the theater so we could be as obnoxious as we liked.  This involved Kelly elbowing me everytime the chameleon sidekick did something cute and promising me that ours would do that, too, if I let her get one.  We also caught all the right buses, and then sang and tap-danced at 11:15 at night while we waited for the bus in the freezing cold.  Good times.

– Dana: “So what made your week so good?”

Me: “I got to see a lot of people!!”

Dana: “I like that definition.”

– remembering that I’m really not that good at Dutch Blitz.

– noticing all the unexpected and beautiful friendships that I’ve found this semester – Sam, Lindsey, Rachel, Renee.  I really wasn’t expecting them, which makes them even more wonderful.

– forcing Renee to stay for worship team tryouts, because she got nervous (and I promised that if she left I wouldn’t walk her back…and the house is in this alley….she stayed) and then jumping up and down with her on Friday when she told me she made it.  That was fun.

– a long, late-night girltalk with my Bible study, and then lots of them with my roomie.

– finding out that there is a Christmas semi-formal next week.  I am so excited.

– finishing my poster application for graphic design classes….I do think it’s really good.  I hope they do, too!

So many things make me smile.  Hot tea, pretty clothes, a good book, friends who lend me good books and movies, snuggling down in my bed on a Saturday morning, music that makes my soul sing.  And having friends who love singing, too.

raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens…

I’m heading into an interesting week.  I think it will be fun but difficult – difficult because I do have a lot of work due, and difficult because it’s my last week of classes.  All of my friends are dying to be done with theirs, but I like every single one of my professors, so I’ll be kind of sad.  And I’ll probably just be lost without  my acting class.  It’s practically therapy for me by now.

Now I’m off to work.  Really.
