memories

Have you ever begged and begged your parents for something, mostly in fun, and never expected them to actually agree?

You know, like I spent most of my childhood asking for a pony.  Or a dog.

Well, yesterday Kelly and I were facebook chatting (from the same room…we’re good roommates like that) when I started pestering her to go see Tangled with me.  I knew she would like to, but she’s a very dedicated student and usually has lots of work and exams to study for.

So I’m typing silly things, like reminding her what a staff member at Cru tells us at the beginning of every year about the importance of Making Memories, and that we should just go to the midnight showing and do something spontaneous.

I was kinda floored when she asked me where it was playing.

So we have a roomie date tonight.  Provided we catch the right buses, we are off to the 9:20 showing of the new Disney Princess movie.

(For the record, my twin and I went shopping on Saturday.  Of course we wandered into the toy store.  And of course we went into the Disney store.  Whereupon we gazed in awe and wonder at the new Disney Princess Barbie Castle.  Feel free to buy it for me for Christmas!)

It snowed here today!  What an appropriate way to welcome December.  And it also got quite cold.  So of course I am grateful to my Big State University’s dedication to keeping me warm and alive.  Although I can’t help thinking that there’s something wrong when our window is flung wide open, it’s snowing, and I’m walking around in a tank top.

One of these days maybe I’ll pry loose that panel that lets me adjust the heat vents.  Or they’ll decide that heating all the rooms to 90 degrees isn’t helping the whole Energy Conservation thing.

all good roommates chat with each other over fb while they’re in the same room. unless one of them, whose name i will not mention (cough, annie!), deactivates fb. then, good roommates text each other. haha.

let me know how tangled was once you’ve seen it! it looks like it’d be a pretty good movie from the previews, but of course they can be false indicators.

use of the word whereupon – i totally approve. not that you need me to approve your word choice, but i just thought i’d throw that out there.

it snowed here, too! the world is pretty when it’s white, but not as easy to walk in.
