one of those days…

You know those days when you plan on being productive and amazing, the alarm goes off early, and you spring out of bed, happy and ready to face the day?

Yeah, I didn’t have one of those days either.  Instead, it was one of those days where the immediate reaction of no! morphs into I can do this! which morphs into I must get out of bed now which morphs into my head hurts which morphs into using that extra productive hour to sleep.  I wanted to be Super Student today – to get up, and actually have a quiet time before class (they have been woefully inconsistent…), study a bit, be fresh and prepared for my quiz….all that.  Instead, I stumbled out of bed and forced my eyes to open (which, when your head hurts, they don’t want to do).  And I was so tired…and a bit nauseous…after class that I immediately crawled back into bed for an hour.  Keep in mind that I’d only been up the grand total of two hours, too.

And oh, hello, sore throat.  You woke up with me this morning, too.  I thought I killed you two weeks ago!

It’s been an interesting day.  Obviously.

But highlights have been seeing people I know on the way to class (love that!), doing well on the quiz, having dinner at Panera with my Bible study leader, and having a sweet roomie (who also woke up with a sore throat…this must be an epidemic…yay college life…) go to Starbucks tonight to get us both tea.  Meaning, I didn’t have to!  I love that girl.

I also found myself pining for it to be a snowy November night when I could be snuggled up and watching Christmas movies, instead of being snuggled up, it being about 70* outside, and me studying for an exam.  Oh well.  93 days till Christmas, according to the official Santa Countdown Clock!  (Yes.  I checked.  And did you know you can email Santa, too?  The joys of technology).

I also discovered that I was a bit too enthusiastic working out last night (for my first time in….oh, forget it.  Walking miles around campus counts, you know) and stretching.  In case you were wondering, if you haven’t done a split in 5 + weeks, you can probably still do it.  But you may not have much mobility in your legs the next day!  (ahem)

And, now I’m hopping off to go to bed.

cheers & wishes for no more members to the Sore Throat Club,

megan

Poor love – I hope you wake up tomorrow morning feeling significantly better! And I know what you mean, too . . . although I fortunately haven’t caught any sickness yet (though I’m just waiting for it to catch up with me, since pretty much every other single girl on my floor is sick right now), the past few days have been, well, a bit rough regarding studying and papers and quizzes, etc. So I know the feeling. Know that I am thinking of and praying for you . . .

And a little truth for you and me tonight:

    “You may not understand what is happening to you;
it may seem, to you, all wrong.
    trust yourself to him.
    Believe when you cannot prove.
    Hold on to his constancy,
    his justice,
his eternal purposes for you in Christ.
    Regard these as absolutes,
    which can never be shaken,
build your case logically upon them,
    remain steadfast and unshaken,
confident that ultimately all will be made plain
    and all will be well.”
    (D. Martyn-Lloyd Jones)

    with love,
    Jessina

    lots o’ prayers,
    love,

Oh man, I want it to be a snowy November day watching a Christmas movie, too! (Fat chance of that down here though…) I can’t wait to get home and do that 🙂

I hope you feel better soon though, being sick just stinks.
