These are a few of the verses that have meant a lot to me recently.  Today, I thought I would share!

“I am still confident of this: that I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage, yes, wait for the Lord.”  – Psalm 27:13-14

“The Lord is my strength and my shield: my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped.  Therefore my heart exults, and with my song I shall thank Him.” – Psalm 28:7

“Can a woman forget her nursing child, and have no compassion on the son of her womb?  Even these may forget, but I will not forget you.”  – Isaiah 49:15 (emphasis mine)

“Do not call to mind the former things, or ponder the things of the past.  Behold, I will do something new; now it will spring forth; will you not be aware of it?”  – Isaiah 43:18-19

“But you will rejoice in the Lord; you will glory in the Holy one of Israel.”  – Isaiah 41:16

“For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face-to-face; now I know in part; but then I shall know fully, just as I have been fully known.”  – 1 Corinthians 13:12

“You did not choose me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask of the Father in My name, He may give to you.  This I command you: that you love one another.”  – John 15:16-17

“The Lord is the portion of my inheritance and my cup; Thou dost support my lot.  The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; indeed, my heritage is beautiful to me.”  – Psalm 16:5-6

“Thou wilt make known to me the path of life; in Thy presence is fulness of joy, in Thy right hand are pleasures forever.”  – Psalm 16:11

“Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness.  Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.  Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He will do it.”  – Psalm 37:3-5

“His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.  For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, in order that by them you might become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.”  – 2 Peter 1:3-4

“Have I not commanded you?  Be strong and courageous!  Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”  – Joshua 1:9

“For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.”  – 2 Corinthians 4:17-18

So there you go!  Beautiful reminders of His care and provision.  And as a small disclaimer, I know several of these verses could be taken with a “prosperity gospel” mindset – where it seems like God is some kind of genie and these verses suggest that only good things will happen, all our dreams will come true, and whatnot.  That is nonsense; but  I find comfort in these verses because they do promise that God has a plan for my life, and that it is good (even if His definition of “good” is different than mine!).  He knows what He’s doing (and one day I will know too!), and in His presence is all the “fulness of joy” and “pleasures forever.”  Sounds like a happy ever after ending to me!

And now, off to write those papers.  Happy Tuesday!
