What camera should Megan get?

Confession: I’m not much of a photographer.  I wish I was.  I wish that was my hobby, that I knew how to take awesome pictures.  And while I adore pictures, frankly my hobby is just posing for them.  Or I don’t feel like digging out my camera, seeing if it actually has power, or trying to take a picture in the two seconds before it goes off.

So maybe these problems were related to my camera.  Regardless, it is time that I get a new one.  My old one officially bit the dust two weeks ago (the lens got stuck halfway, so you can’t do anything with it), but I really think it just got offended because one of my friends called it “a brick”.  It is about ten years old, so picture cutting edge digital camera technology – back in 2000.  Might give you some idea of what it looked like.  Anyway, it had a good life.  Rest in peace.

But now it is time to replace it.  I’m looking for something small, and preferably under $100, but I really have no experience in buying cameras.  I just want it to be able to take decent pictures, and to work.  So does anyone have any suggestions?  I know Nikon, Canon, and Sony all make small models, though I’ve heard mixed reviews about all of them.  But I am now soliciting your opinions, blog readers!

And if you don’t have an opinion, just tell me what kind of camera you have and if you like it.  Please?

Here’s a link to look at for some ideas – go down to “compact cameras” and I think there are 5. However, it looks like they start at $130 – its worth a shot tho (pun intended 🙂 cause they look like good cameras. Good luck in your search! 🙂

Dear, my camera that was given by friends years ago is a 2001 and what I call my “clunker”. But it still works, despite several breaks!

Anyway, we have also have a camera we like:

    Canon PowerShotA75

Unfortunately, it’s broken now, so I’m not sure if it’s fixable or not. Thought I better add that. ; D
