And now for something completely different

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, my dear blog readers! Mine was simply crammed with cheer. Lots of fun, lots of laughs, and lots of love. (And a brilliant present from my parents: a duffel bag on wheels! This means no more broken backs as I walk the twenty minutes to the bus stop to come home, and it’s luggage I can actually fit in my tiny closet, unlike a wheelie suitcase). There are also many new books crying for my attention – but they might merit a post of their own.

Anyway. Remember my post a few days ago about being all crafty for Christmas? Well, since Christmas was two days ago, I am now at liberty to post some pictures.

I made altered wooden boxes for both my sisters, and I really love how they turned out. It’s amazing what a little paint, scrapbooking paper and stickers, and mod podge can do!

Here’s Katie’s:

The top says “memories”, and the cream paper has a vintage bird stamped onto it.

Here’s the view from the side:

And the inside:

On the inside I’ve printed a quote onto vellum: “The most beautiful things in this world cannot be seen, nor touched…but are felt in the heart.”  – Helen Keller

And now for Julia’s box.  She loves dancing so much that I made that the theme (okay, I also found a pack of 3D stickers that was so adorably perfect I had to use them):

The silver charm says “Dream”

Other sides of the box have stickers that say “Dancing Star” and “Tiny Dancer”

Here’s the inside:

The picture’s a little blurry, but it’s a stamped image of a mouse holding a flower.

And there you go!  I’ve got some fun posts coming up, and book reviews of A Chance to Die and Same Kind of Different As Me, so stay tuned!
