Christmas time is here…

happiness and cheer,

fun for all, the children call

their favorite time of year!

It’s my favorite time of year too.  Of course, by now you should know that I’m just a big kid.

In that vein, I haven’t posted pictures of my dorm room in a while…or ever?  So I thought I would give you a sneak peek into our Christmas decorations.  There’s always lovely blog tours in December, the “show us your pretty, decorated house!” deal.  I don’t have a big, pretty, decorated house at college, but I do have a little room crammed with Christmas cheer and creative decorations.  Would you like to come in?

Of course we have window clings on our walls.

And all kinds of festive garlands and light strung around…

As well as our very own Christmas tree!  Kelly and I had been talking about how we wanted a tree, and I was thinking one of those one-foot-tall-get-from-a-craft-store-baby trees.  Then I walk in after classes on Tuesday to find this 5 1/2 foot tall tree.  Yes, I have a pretty amazing roomie.  Since then we’ve been decorating a little bit every day…the garlands are wrapped around it, we find ornaments or make ornaments; I made the bow on top yesterday…it has been fun.

In other Christmas news, last night was a “Home for the Holidays” themed dinner at my dining hall.  I walked into tons of beautiful Christmas decorations, some of the workers dressed up (down to the bow tie), and a live brass quartet.  I was told I missed the a cappella group…oh well.  The live music and decorations pretty much made my night.  Maybe my week.  I spent more time singing than eating, but who’s complaining?  And as I was walking to class tonight, I passed a frat blaring Christmas music.  I just beamed.

snowflakes in the air, beauty everywhere…

One year, I covered my closet doors in construction paper to make a fire place. We hung stockings and everything. It was lots of fun!
